GST

Also known as Goods and Services Tax

GST, or Goods and Services Tax, is a consumption tax used in countries including Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand and Singapore. Like VAT, GST may apply to foreign sellers supplying digital services to local consumers once a registration threshold is crossed.

In plain terms: The GST-named equivalent of VAT in a number of countries.

Why it matters

Same practical point as VAT: incorporation in the US does not exempt you from consumption tax where your customers are, once thresholds are met.
