Bank feed

A bank feed is an automated connection importing transactions from a bank or card account into accounting software. Feeds reduce manual entry but do not categorise reliably on their own, and imported transactions still require review and reconciliation.

In plain terms: An automatic import of your transactions into the accounting system.

Why it matters

Convenient, and quietly responsible for a lot of wrong books. Automatic categorisation guesses, and a year of unreviewed guesses produces reports that look complete and are not.
